SadPhos ligand is a newly developed chiral ligand with adaptive coordination, created by the research group of Professor Zhang Junliang. This ligand features non-C2 symmetry and various coordination atoms with differing soft and hard properties. It can be used as a monophosphine ligand, or as an N,P-ligand, P,S-ligand, and P,O-ligand, offering flexible coordination modes with numerous transition metals and metals in various valence states. This flexibility makes it highly promising in the field of asymmetric synthesis.
Chiral organosilicon compounds are widely applied in the synthesis of organic chemical materials, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and other industries. Recently, Professor Zhang’s research group successfully applied SadPhos ligands to the synthesis of such compounds. They utilized a chiral metal complex formed from a palladium source and SadPhos ligand as a catalyst. Under basic conditions, the intramolecular asymmetric silylation reaction of o-iodoenyl ether compounds was achieved, resulting in the formation of benzofuran-based chiral disilicon compounds[1]. This method offers several advantages, including non-toxic and easily accessible raw materials, simple operation, high enantioselectivity, and the ability to modify drug molecule derivatives, making it highly promising for future applications.
